NexGard is a chewable treatment for large dogs weighing over 10 kg and up to 25 kg. It kills fleas within 8 hours and kills ticks within 48 hours. Each chew is palatable, so most dogs take it as a treat.

Long-Lasting Relief

One chew covers a month. Flea activity lasts at least 5 weeks and tick activity lasts one month, so dose every month on the same date. Afoxolaner acts on the nervous system of fleas and ticks as they feed. Killing fleas quickly also reduces the risk of flea allergy dermatitis.

Correct Use

NexGard may be given from 8 weeks of age and 2 kg bodyweight. Tell your vet about any other medicines your dog is taking, and about any history of seizures or neurological disease, before use. Match the chew to your dog's current weight.

This pack contains three chews, which is three monthly doses for a dog in the 10-25 kg band. Give one chew per month.

Afoxolaner is absorbed after the chew is swallowed, so fleas and ticks are killed as they feed. There are no restrictions on handling, bathing or swimming after dosing.

Set a monthly reminder. Cover lapses if a dose is late, and fleas in the home environment can re-infest a dog quickly.

Safety information

Afoxolaner is a member of the isoxazoline class of medicines.

This class has been associated with neurological reactions including muscle tremor, loss of coordination and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs with no previous history of them. Use with caution in dogs with existing epilepsy or a neurological disorder, and tell your vet before use.
