NexGard chew is a flea and tick treatment for medium dogs weighing over 4 kg and up to 10 kg. It is a monthly chewable tablet with beef braised flavouring, so most dogs take it readily. The active ingredient, afoxolaner, kills fleas within 8 hours and kills ticks within 48 hours.

Flea activity lasts at least 5 weeks and tick activity lasts one month, so a single chew covers a month. It may be used in puppies from 8 weeks of age weighing at least 2 kg. A chew is easier to give than a topical treatment and the full dose goes in every time. This pack holds three chews, which is three monthly doses.

How to Administer NexGard Chew

Give one chewable tablet once a month. Can be given with or without food. Match the chew to your dog's current weight and dose on the same date each month so cover does not lapse.

Safety information

Afoxolaner is a member of the isoxazoline class of medicines.

This class has been associated with neurological reactions including muscle tremor, loss of coordination and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs with no previous history of them. Use with caution in dogs with existing epilepsy or a neurological disorder, and tell your vet before use.
