NexGard is a chewable tablet for flea and tick treatment in small dogs. It kills fleas within 8 hours and ticks within 48 hours, and one chew covers a month.
How NexGard Works to Protect Your Dog
NexGard contains afoxolaner. Once your dog swallows the chew, afoxolaner is absorbed and circulates in the bloodstream, so fleas and ticks are killed as they feed. Flea activity lasts at least 5 weeks and tick activity lasts one month, which breaks the flea life cycle when you dose every month.
Weight Band and Age
This is the 11 mg chew, for dogs weighing 2-4 kg. NexGard may be given from 8 weeks of age and 2 kg bodyweight. Match the chew to your dog's current weight and ask your vet if you are unsure which band to buy.
NexGard does not treat worms and does not prevent heartworm. If your dog needs worm cover as well, ask your vet about NexGard Spectra.
Outdoor Dogs
Fleas and ticks can carry disease, so continuous monthly cover matters for dogs that walk in long grass or scrub. This pack of three chews is three monthly doses. Give one chew on the same date each month so cover does not lapse.
Safety information
Afoxolaner is a member of the isoxazoline class of medicines.
This class has been associated with neurological reactions including muscle tremor, loss of coordination and seizures. Seizures have been reported in dogs with no previous history of them. Use with caution in dogs with existing epilepsy or a neurological disorder, and tell your vet before use.
This is a prescription-only veterinary medicine. Use under veterinary direction.
How we work out the portion
A pet's daily energy need starts from its resting requirement — 70 multiplied by body weight in kilograms to the power of 0.75 — then multiplied by a factor for species, life stage and activity. The calculator above uses 1.4 to 2.2 for adult dogs and 1.0 to 1.4 for adult cats.
The gram figure then depends on how many calories are in a kilogram of the food. That varies by formula, so we use a sensible default and show it openly rather than hiding it. If the bag states its own kcal/kg, use that number instead.
Choosing a pack size
The price-per-kilo figure next to every size is the honest comparison — a bigger bag is only better value if the maths says so, and on a handful of lines it currently does not. Buy the size your pet will finish within about six weeks of opening, so the food stays fresh.
Island-wide delivery, charged by weight

The exact charge is calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
